I was never worried about charging for my 9,100 mile trip. I almost exclusively took advantage of the Tesla superchargers. My driving habits from my gas car changed for the Tesla trip. No longer was I driving for 500 miles and then filling up. Feeling half dead and sore from sitting so long. I was averaging between 1.5 to 2.5 hours behind the wheel mostly determined by traffic conditions before charging up. The shorter drive times made it enjoyable and when I arrived at the hotels I was not "dead" from the days driving.

For planning my trip I used the Tesla "Find Us" web site http://www.tesla.com/findus along with the excellent EV Trip Planner web site https://www.evtripplanner.com These along with my Chargepoint and NRG EVgo access I never worried about running out of juice.

At home I treat the Tesla like a cell phone. Park in the garage and plug in (220v/40a) {80% of circuit} and if I need to I can change the charging with my smartphone.

Once Tesla starts producing significant quantities of the Model 3 ($35K - $43K estimated cost) then the Supercharger congestion will be a factor. Tesla has not published exact details of the access to Superchargers for the future flood of Tesla cars. I hope that the Supercharger density will improve in all states and people will be decent about charging at home to not make the Supercharger access a bone of contention.

PaulPaul Northruphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08790937780754477598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37798047.post-41546208679133852462016-06-22T22:26:34.831-04:002016-06-22T22:26:34.831-04:00Thanks for this great post!

I was once in that stage in my life when i needed a hacker badly, after so many years of failed trials, I got to finally meet a certified ethical hacker. I salute the skills and integrity of this man. My words wont thank him enough. You can get hold of him on geniushack08@gmail.com or his cell +1 (724) 471-0057
His results are guaranteedWilfred Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01303392241556004615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37798047.post-75176835118392740712016-06-19T23:44:07.505-04:002016-06-19T23:44:07.505-04:00Nice work on the blog post.
Some corrections:
1...Nice work on the blog post.

Some corrections:

1. My garage is wired for two EV's, and the total cost was $500 CDN for both. It is possible to spend many thousands, but just as possible is hundreds of $. Very much depends on the situation. Ontario Canada is planning to require new home builds to have 240V outlet available in every new home garage.

2. Tesla does support CHAdeMO charging. They offer an adaptor for sale. I've used it to charge our Tesla Model S at ~45 kW, lower than supercharger power, but still rapid, adding 130 km of range in half an hour.

3. The default maximum charging setting for our Tesla Model S 85 is 90%, and we override that to 100% a few times per month, many dozens of times per year for road trips. The pack still charges to 97% of original capacity after 80000 km and 2.5 years of driving!

CheersSmart Electric Drivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01435293519000503056noreply@blogger.com
